Course Overview
Originally this course was developed as a vehicle for understanding and experiencing the Festool Domino Joiner;
a versatile and accessible power tool that creates strong floating tenon joints. Having delivered this course
a couple of times it became clear that this project covered much more than a flexible approach to joinery.
While this course still offers a fabulous practical introduction to the domino joiner it has been expanded
to include:
· Reading and understanding a shop drawing
· understand how the drawing forms the basis of the cut list
· how to transfer dimensions from a story stick to accurately mark out components
· keep track of components using face marks and triangle marking
· understand timber properties and timber movement
· how to set up and adjust the domino jointer and use with a domino dock
· work with custom-designed jigs in the machine room
· pre-fit components for glue up and glue up strategies
· safe and efficient workflow practices
· best sanding practice
