Course Overview
This creative carving course is suitable for beginners as well as more experienced wood carvers. A strong emphasis will be placed safe carving techniques. In this course participants will make a walking stick that has a carved handle. For example, an African bird handle or your own design.
The Course Leader Bronwyn Vost was featured in our 'Meet the Member' section of the Association's August 2021 Newsletter.
Bronwyn is highly experienced in woodcarving and is most famous for her large rocking kangaroos. One of Bronwyn's carvings was provided as a gift to the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Participants are encouraged to bring their own carving tools and gloves but these will be available if required.

Materials Provided
Timber, tools and consumables to create a hand carved walking stick. Carving tools and gloves provided as required.
What To Bring
An apron if possible to cover clothing, gloves that are comfortable and fit your hand size, dust mask, lunch. Your own carving tools, if available.
Safety
Please wear sturdy footwear, boots or shoes with leather uppers.
