Terry Gleeson was born in 1958 in Sydney's northern suburbs and has lived in Sydney all his life. After completing school in 1975 Terry signed up as an apprentice Cabinet Maker serving the latter part of his apprenticeship with G L Macedo Pty Ltd, at the time Australia's largest antique restoration and period reproduction workshop. Macedos was the perfect training ground in traditional furniture making skills.
After starting his own business in 1983 Terry continued working with antiques specialising in replica chair making. More recently Terry has concentrated on more contemporary designs exhibiting at places such as the Bungendore Woodworks, St Albans Gallery, Leura Fine Woodwork Gallery, Wood Masters 2000, the Sydney Craft Show, the Sydney International Furniture Show and the Glenaeon Craft Expo.
Terry is a past Chair of the Woodworkers Association of NSW as well as being an exhibiting member.
