Design + Wood 2009: an exhibition of contemporary studio furniture

4th - 16 August, Depot Gallery, 2 Danks St Waterloo

The exhibition provides a rare opportunity to appreciate;

* the work of studio furniture makers seldom exhibited outside specialist and studio galleries, and

* the diversity and beauty of Australian native timbers.

"Studio furniture" refers to one-off or limited edition works designed and made by one or a small number of people. The exhibitors include established and emerging designer / makers who focus on contemporary design while retaining the traditions of workshop-based production. The exhibits capture the spirit of the maker in concept and dedication to craftsmanship.

It is with great pleasure that the Woodworkers Association of NSW presents Design + Wood 2009 with the support of Forests NSW and our other sponsors. The Association is very proud to be associated with the Powerhouse Museum and the Sydney Design 09 program.
